The Chilkoti Group

We are a lab of scientists and engineers working at the intersection of protein engineering, polymer chemistry, materials science, and medicine, with an emphasis on the design of solutions translatable to the clinic.

We carry out research in three areas: 1) genetically encoded, stimuli responsive biomolecular materials for applications in drug delivery and tissue engineering; 2) next generation point of care clinical diagnostics, and 3) nonfouling, non-immunogenic polymer brushes for diagnostics and drug delivery.
