Tosh was elected to the U.S. National Academy of Medicine, considered one of the highest honors in the fields of health and medicine and recognizes individuals who have demonstrated outstanding professional achievement and commitment to service. He was elected “for developing the first artificial polypeptides to enter clinical trials for sustained delivery of protein drugs, inventing a method to purify protein drugs and viral vectors without chromatography, developing innovative point-of-care clinical diagnostics, and developing a next-gen PEGylation technology that eliminates the immune response seen with PEGylated biologics.”
